Overview of the Robots at CES 2011
This year’s Consumer Electronics Show for Robots made the glitter of Las Vegas shine even brighter with home cleaning robots, robotic masseuses, robo pets, robo men and telepresence systems.
One of the most popular robotic exhibits of the CES of Robots in 2011 was the iRobot new home helpers. The Roomba 700 series has the most innovative features with three dimensions in its cleaning system.
- Advanced heads in models that pick up dust more efficiently
- AeroVac Series that maximizes suction to pick up hair
- Two Hepa type filters to collect allergens, dust mites and mold spores
- Dirt detectors that utilize acoustic technology to sense debris of all sizes
- Soft touch bumper to prevent scuffing on home furnishings and walls.
- Full bin indicator lights
- Programmable touch pad
At this point iRobot says that the Roomba is now an upgraded version with more suction power to pick up fine dirt and dust particles. The power of suction has been improved by a margin of 20%. This is due to the computer software that operates the Roomba with an added 50% more life to the battery. The price is not out of reach for the average household either as the retail value is listed at $450 dollars.

The Scooba washer is an amazing robotic home helper that would be a dream come true to have in the home or the business. Imagine getting the house or the office cleaned without having to hire a service or spend the time breaking the back to do those all important tasks of mopping the floor. To make the home sparkling clean, the floors will be kept at white glove status with the Scooba robot.
This is a round cylindrical robot that measures 6.5 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches in height. It is compact enough to get around all the most difficult areas to reach, including the base of the commode. The latest innovation in sanitation of floors, the Scooba 23, uses iAdapt; Responsive Cleaning Technology which is the same technology used in the Roomba 700 Series. This software system makes the robot monitor the area with sensors that update the processor more than 60 times per second to ensure the floor is completely cleaned.
The Scooba uses a dual reservoir system keeping the cleaning solution and the water separate. The scope of one cleaning session is up to 14 square feet of various surfaces such as tile, smooth sealed hardwood or linoleum. iRobot feels that, because the Scooba does not reuse any dirty water, it is farmore sanitary than a mop. The retail value is $300 dollars.
Taking steps beyond cleaning, there is the dilemma of showing up at work in person or at other meetings in locations far away from an office headquarters. For this problem there is the frontier of telepresence robotics. iRobot has implemented the iPad of all things, in its latest version of a telepresence robot. The robot is called AVA, which suggests the word Avatar.
This robot has the appearance of an iPad at the top of a pedestal that moves up and down and rolls around just as the Roomba moves, but it transports the computer representation of a remote operator’s eyes, ears, voice and brain, essentially. For example, should a busy CEO of a company like Colin Angle of iRobot, need to participate in a meeting in his other headquarters in the Silicon Valley in Mountainview, California from his office located on the East Coast, he can. He simply needs to connect to an interface via the web and have his AVA power up and tour the site.
These robots were shown to peer and move about at the CES 2011, lurking as they might appear to do with lights, signaling when the camera was on, with a voice projecting from it and the image on the screen of Colin. Colin’s employees react in various ways but will be viewed from the desk, some 3000 miles away.
It is thought that telepresence robots could develop enough to do the work of people in offices as they run them from other locations, doing tasks of various level of mechanical engagement, including manual labor. Although iRobot does not classify the AVA as a telepresence robot, the function is very much the same as others of previous design.
The AVA looked heavy and slow and did not seem to be highly mobile. iRobot is encouraging developers to design applications that can be used with the AVA so it can be made to perform a wide variety of tasks and useful work. The AVA is considered to be a prototype that is meant to seed of the imaginations of those within the world of industrious software development life cycle project planning.

Nope. First of all the dotcoms were a huge sinkhole, something like a trillion bucks went into impossible business models that could never make a cent and into buying servers that were underused or overloadeed, and obsolete within a year. So that probably wasnt why the 90's boomed.
The current crop of new energy technologies are also impossible sinkholes. Photovoltaics cost like 6 times as much as it would take to break even. Ethanol is below break-even. Geothermal is very limited. Wind maybe but only in huge many million dollars per tower sizes.
Yes, those would employ some people, but employment in itself is useless, the people have to be adding some value, otherwise the work is not going to generate value, i.e. make a profit.
It would take something like cold fusion to make a big difference. And that's not likely.
Four kids, two cats and five cockatiels? Sounds like an overwhelming amount of cleaning for one person to take care of on a regular basis. Maybe you should consider hiring a housekeeper to come in once or twice a week, give yourself some time to relax.
Try to download & install the Vista compatible software from the Canon support website:
There is some "initial clumping". That is to say clumping that had already occurred before the cloud of dust and gas began to contract under gravity.
Think about our present solar system.
It contains some asteroids that are nothing more than irregular lumps of iron.
These lumps did not "accrete" from a dust cloud. They were formed more or less "as is" in a supernova event. Such lumps may well be the nucleus of our planet and other planets and moons.
So when cosmologists use the term cloud of dust and gas, it includes some very large "dust"particles. Some of the particles in the original cloud may have been 50 kilometers across, or more.
When the cloud is triggered to contract, the large particles will readily clump together and thus be able to attract more and more other paticles.
Gimp is an image editing software. I don't know if that is what you're looking for, as you said "animation."
One way to tell if free software is legit is to see if it is available at one or more of these sites:
http://www.filehippo.com
http://www.download.com
http://www.majorgeeks.com
These websites will not knowingly put on software that has viruses, spyware, etc. So if you want to download Gimp, here are the direct links:

just slap him and tell him to f' off out of the house
Nero is not free, and so downloading it from the Internet is illegal, even if you have owned it at one point. If you don't have the installation disc, you're out of luck. Try searching online for free alternatives – I like InfraRecorder at infrarecorder.org but keep in mind it's nowhere near as full-featured as Nero. And if you ABSOLUTELY need Nero, then you're going to need to do a web search for the right terms. You can use Yahoo's integrated Bing search engine.
I doubt it, if you have the warranty then say its broken. But if you dont want to then the kinda wet your hands it might slide.
Ghostly is right. If the teacher and the journal tell different stories, then take the journal in with you and ask for specifics. If you don't get a sensible answer, go to the principal. My concern is that his language development may be delayed if he hears Spanish all day. Immersion classes have a special curriculum and methodology. If he's just being thrown in to a Spanish speaking class, he could lose some English. I'd see if he could be transferred to a class with more English. He's
very young and needs to reinforce his English skills or his reading will be delayed.
Hi Jason!
congratulations for coming up with an invention!
i will speak based on what i learned from my inventor professor way back in college. he once said that you have to believe in your idea and find the right people to fill up your team. in getting teammates – you are to find the best among the best (this is your first step). in pursuing an invention – there is a rocky road awaiting for you but if you truly believe in the potential of your invention – you must travel that road. don't be afraid Jason.
he also said innovation happen in our minds and invention happens in reality. don't stop with a concept. pursue in making a prototype.
share you idea with others to improve it. don'd be afraid in sharing it
Go Jason! You can do it ^^
try reading how adobe came to be in relation to the inventor. hope it helps you out. in addition, try getting the book "The way to innovation." it helps a lot and take my word for it.
Rage Against the Machine did a few excellent rock covers – Pistol Grip Pump, Renegades of Funk, How I Could Just Kill a Man – really good ————
i have it and yes i think its wonderful..
Go back to the mechanic that perform the job and have them REclear the codes.
Mechanics often disconect the battery when working. They reconect it thinking that will erase the codes and on some vehicles that won't work and actually need to be recleared.
Its safe to drive.
maybe u have too many virises and u can download anti viris programs that are free here>>>avgfree.com. NOTE: some programs r not free.
I dont recall what they're called but you can get them at a local gas station but you have to be 18. to buy them.
And that movie is the shit man..lol.
No, it has to be the same card. You are correct saying that the manufacturer can be different, but it has to be 2 of the same model.
I run 2 8800 GT's, and one is EVGA, and the other is XFX, and I have no problems… but you couldnt run say a 8800 GT and an 8800 GTS.
Yes. handwashing would be a good idea. but sometimes, if you wanna risk it, you can try washing it in the washing machine cause sometimes, it's just lying.
i tried that once before.
Rock your style,
H ♥
The onus is on The Landlord.
Your best option is to put his faulty appliances into storage some where for when you leave, and return them in the same state as when you received them.
But you will have to buy replacements for them whilst you are staying there, but you can take your purchased stuff with you, and leave the Landlord with his old crap.
As for the Power Shower, if it was, that owned your house, then I could tell you how to fix it, but It would mean tracing the wiring back from the the switch which controls the the transformer. which controls the motor of the pump which alters the flow speed of the water.

California is trying to regulate itself back to the stone age.
Pretty soon the only people left in that state will be regulators, criminals and welfare recipients.
After their tax on a tax thing of last week, I'm sure that many of the remaining doers in the state have decided to leave, this is just more piling on by people who don't think very hard about the implications of their actions. They're sure to complain about high food costs that result from this… but they won't look at why the costs are high.
Depends on the company. Have pricing from both along with current private party ads for vehicles that are the same year, make, model and mileage. This will allow you to know if what they are offering is anywhere close to what you should be getting. To even get a payout from the insurance company, you would have to have collision coverage, and your deductible will be taken out of the settlment amount.
Look through your tenancy agreement – this will detail your rights for your situation. It really depends on the terms you agreed to and signed for. Make sure you check your inventory for what is included. Normally if it's on the inventory and you didn't break it it's expected that they should fix it. In my experience it is best to stay on good terms with your landlord/ managing agent/ letting agent so be nice but firm when dealing with them or you may find they become slow and stubborn dealing with things!
If I were you I'd recommend writing a letter to your landlord letting them know that you're disappointed that expected level of service from the maintenance man hasn't been reached and you expect that appliances supplied should be adequate for their purpose. Politely advise that you are sure the problem encountered on such date is simply an oversight and you would be obliged if the following problems could rectified at the earliest opportunity.
E.g.
Vacuum cleaner supplied inadequate for keeping property to an acceptable state of cleanliness. Suggested resolutions:
1, The existing vacuum cleaner is fixed within 2 weeks.
2, A new vacume cleaner is supplied within 2 weeks
3, If options 1 or 2 aren't achieved you will purchase new vacume cleaner for £39.99 from Argos. The receipt will be passed on for immediate reimbursement/ to be deducted from next months rent.
Make it as easy as possible for the landlord to rectify the problem – e.g by giving them feasible options and deadlines and chances of it getting sorted are much better!!! Offering to get it sorted yourself and passing on the bill does often get them to do something. Just make sure you don't spend your own money on getting it fixed without getting confirmation that they'll pay you back.

No, did you even READ your own source?
Obama did not target "sanctuary cities", the Arizona immigration law did.
Well obviously the laptop will remain without power because you removed the battery after removing the power supply or you didn't have the power supply plugged in when you removed the battery and by the way before removing your battery, make sure you leave abit of power in your battery such as 2% as Lithium – ion cannot be fully discharge that is if you are just taking it out because your laptop is getting hot and will put it back in later.
When you connect the power supply and the battery the "battery's LED light" will come on green or orange, colors maybe different on specific laptops. Orange means charging and green means full.
You can power the laptop without the battery and the "battery LED light" will go off.
All laptops are able to run on the power supply without the battery. Although the battery is in the laptop, it is still running by the mains and not the battery.
The battery LED light is just to let you know that the battery is;
charging or fully charged
There is no current difference.
sounds like there's a spirit around you if things are moving around and the fact that you can hear it and sometimes got seen it. the part about you sensing this and the fact that yo can see what is going to happening may be because you have Psyche powers someone in your family or maybe just your own soul has the ability to do this. i have the same thing but i can do other things too. sorry if this sounds crazy cause i'm just a spiritual person. i'm not wicken or anything i do like that stuff. but these maybe the reasons you can see these things. now about the paranormal activity around you could be many things a spirit or a demon it can even be you. now if it's a spirit a good one it just moves things around but never hurts you if it's a bad one then it will hurt you break things throws things around also can make you depressed. if it's a demon it trys to posses you cause you to do evil things and act unusually. (i had a demon around me once it stayed for about a year with me the i kicked it out of my house it was also in pictures of me as an orb) now it can be one of these if you are fearing that it may hurt you then i would try to get a priest in your home or use holy water to protect your self i wouldn't confront it for you may welcome it in to your body. also pray to protect your self unless you don't belive in god. then i don't know how to help you seeing that i'm not wicken or anything. but you can try to brun sage in your room or house that will calm the activity.
Well in a lot of ways it is like that a mad rush of energy, visions coming at you at 100 mph. Everything caught up in a storm of thoughts and emotions.
