Yes, AVI is video. Why are you converting to this if you don't want video?
That the *.avi file extension, but be compressed or be in other streaming(use other codecs) and you need to decompress or change it to normal avi file first. The player that can play this file use its own codecs but your DVD ripper program can't realize because it hasn't got those codecs. Try other DVD ripper program that supports those codecs if you can't decompress or change it.

Or go someplace altogether? Then that $900.00 would sure look good then. I would be sure that they signed a contract that they would be held liable for any damage arising out of the use of the roof. Also be sure to get there insurance policy number and call you own insurance company to be sure all of there people have workers comp. What would happen if someone falls off of your roof?
Cover yourself. $900.00 is in your pocket and they could sue you for falling off that roof.
